CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct governs the Member’s use of the Club and should be read alongside Ignite’s Terms and Conditions of Supply.
CODE OF CONDUCT
All Members and guests must comply with this Code of Conduct at all times. Refusal or continual non-compliance with this Code of Conduct may result in the Member being ejected from the premises and termination of membership if applicable.
Ignite reserves the right to make changes to the Code of Conduct from time to time, and any changes will be effective immediately. Copies of this Code of Conduct can be obtained from reception or from the Ignite website at www.ignite.fitness.
CLUB FACILITIES
Full details of normal opening hours are available on the website or app. Ignite reserves the right to vary normal opening hours, temporarily remove the access to certain equipment, or to temporarily close certain areas of the Club from time to time without notice for various purpose including for cleaning, decorating, repairs, refurbishment, or for special functions and holidays.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
All Members must complete a health questionnaire (a “PARQ”) before entry. If any medical conditions are disclosed, the Member must sign the back of the PARQ stating that they have sought medical advice or wish to use the Club without doing so, and that they take full responsibility for any injury or health condition sustained whilst using the facilities arising from their medical condition. Ignite staff are not medically trained and are therefore not qualified to assess whether the Member is in appropriate physical condition to use the facilities. Ignite advises all Members to take medical advice prior to starting any exercise programme if they are in any doubt as to their ability to do so.
The Member warrants and represents upon their membership Application, and repeats such warranty upon each visit to the Club, that they are in good physical condition and know of no medical or other reason why they should not engage in any form of exercise, and that such exercise would not be detrimental to their health, safety, comfort or physical condition.
If any Member has concerns in relation to health and safety, they must report the issue to Ignite staff immediately.
DRESS CODE
All Members are expected to wear suitable attire at all times while using Club facilities. Ignite considers suitable attire to be: a t-shirt or vest; shorts or trousers suitable for training; and closed shoes suitable for training (with exceptions for certain class activities).
The following are NOT acceptable:
-
Open shoes or bare feet, unless partaking in certain classes as above;
-
No t-shirt / lack of suitable clothing;
-
Jeans or other inappropriate trousers;
-
Getting changed in any area other than designated changing rooms.
Inappropriate attire can be offensive or intimidating to other Members, and as such will not be tolerated. Refusal to comply with the dress code may result in the Member being ejected from the facilities; continued refusal is a breach of the Rules and as such Ignite may terminate the Member’s membership as stated in the Terms and Conditions.
All Members should use suitable measures to maintain basic standards of hygiene, such as using deodorant, showering if needed, and wearing clean gym attire whilst training.
CONDUCT
All Members must conduct themselves in a respectful manner whilst using Club facilities. Any Member who acts in an intimidating, abusive, violent or disrespectful manner may be ejected from the Club, and Members may have their membership terminated with no refund of fees already paid.
During busy periods, Members are to use only one weights station at a time. All weights and equipment must be replaced correctly after use, and equipment and machines should be wiped down.
Any Members who are unsure of how to use a piece of equipment should seek instruction before doing so. Ignite will not take any responsibility where a Member sustains injury from incorrect use of equipment. If any equipment is found to be faulty or malfunctioning, please report this to Ignite staff immediately.
All Members must comply with any reasonable request from Ignite staff in relation to health and safety, and to ensure smooth running of the Club.
No Member may bring external personal trainers to the Club or act as a personal trainer, paid or otherwise. Ignite Personal Trainers (“IPT”) have been confirmed as holding the required certification and insurance, and as such are the only trainers permitted to work in the Club. IPTs are independent professionals, and not employees or agents of Ignite.
Only food and drink purchased at Ignite reception may be consumed on the premises.
All Members must refrain from bringing any bags on the Club floor.
Members are entitled to one towel per visit. Additional towels are available at £1.50 each.

Any Guests to Ignite premises are required to sign in at reception. Guest visits are at Ignite's absolute discretion, and availability may be restricted at peak times. Ignite reserves the right to charge a Guest Fee for all non-Members wanting to use Club facilities.
All Guests are required to provide photographic identification, and failure to provide this may result in the Guest being denied entry to the Club.
All Guests agree to abide by these Code of Conduct, and failure to do so may result in the Guest being ejected from the Club.
FACILITIES
All Members must exit the premises no later than the club closing time.
No food or drink should be consumed in the Club, other than drinks in sealable containers. Alcohol and illegal substances are prohibited from being brought into and/or consumed on the premises; any Member under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances may be ejected from the Club. Smoking is prohibited on Club premises at all times.
CLASSES
Ignite timetables, instructors and classes are subject to change at any time. Ignite will endeavour to provide notice when a class is unable to take place for any reason.
Members are recommended to book in advance to ensure that a class has space for them. Members can book online from 10:00am, 7 days in advance of the class. A Member cannot book onto classes that overlap each other. Ignite operate with a "three strikes" non-attendance rule, whereby three no shows in any 30 day rolling period will result in a one-week advance booking restriction. A Member must cancel a class booking at least one hour in advance of the class to avoid receiving a strike. If the class begins at fully capacity then Ignite will waive this strike.
If a class is full a Member can book onto a waiting list. An email will be sent confirming the Members place on the waiting list. When a space becomes available members will be automatically moved into the class and notified via email. Once on a waiting list Members are committing to attend and could be auto booked into the class up to 1 hour before the class start time. If a Member can no longer attend it must remove itself from the waiting list as a strike will be applied in line with Ignite’s class cancellation policy. If the class begins at fully capacity then Ignite will waive this strike.
Participants booked into class should arrive and be ready at least 5 minutes before class start time. If a participant arrives late, the booking is automatically removed from the class and opened up for other members at the class start time. If the Member arrives late and there is a space still available, to avoid a booking ban the Member must book back into the class otherwise a strike will be applied.
MEMBERS APP & CARD
A free downloadable app is available for both Apple and Android devices. This acts as an entry key upon arrival to the Club. If required a membership card can be issued to each Member upon joining the Club. Members must present their card for security and verification on each visit to the Club; Members without a valid membership card may be asked for photo identification, and will be admitted at the absolute discretion of Ignite staff.
A Member may not loan their membership card or permit its use by any other person; allowing such misuse of a membership card may result in membership being terminated with no refund of fees already paid.
Any lost or mislaid membership cards will be replaced by Ignite for a nominal charge.
LOCKERS AND LOST PROPERTY
The majority of lockers in Club are for day use only; Members are required to provide their own padlock or can purchase one from reception. Ignite strongly advises all Members to lock their belongings in a locker at all times that they are using the Club's facilities.
There is limited availability for permanent lockers, which can be hired for ongoing use. Payments for permanent lockers must be kept up to date at all times.
For any day lockers left padlocked overnight, or permanent lockers not paid for up-to-date, Ignite reserves the right to cut the lock and remove items from the locker. Members will need to see reception and pay a recovery fee, to gain access to their belongings. Any belongings not picked up within a reasonable time will be kept in the Club for a reasonable period and then may be donated to charity.
Any property found left unattended in the Club will be kept for a reasonable period, and then may be donated to charity.
Ignite takes no responsibility for loss, theft or damage for any items brought into the Club, unless Ignite is shown to have been negligent.
Ignite strongly recommends Members to avoid bringing valuable items to the Club where at all possible.
PHOTOGRAPHS AND PUBLICITY
Upon being accepted to the Club’s membership scheme, the Member consents to having their photograph taken by Ignite to confirm their identity upon entry, and consents to having their photograph taken at any time whilst using the facilities, excluding changing rooms. Ignite reserves the right to use any such photographs for press and/or promotional purposes.
