The Sunday Reset: Why Reformer Pilates Could Be the Best Way to Start Your Week

Sundays have a different pace. For many of us, there's a little more room to slow down, do something for ourselves and enjoy the day before Monday arrives.

A Sunday Reformer Pilates class can fit neatly into that space. Time to move, a reason to put your phone away and a regular hour in the diary that's yours.

Why we love a Sunday Reformer class

We are big believers that a worthwhile workout doesn't have to leave you exhausted. Reformer combines controlled movement with spring resistance, balance and mobility. You'll work hard, but the pace gives you time to concentrate on what you're doing.

That's part of its appeal on a Sunday. You can focus on your breathing, take care over each movement and give yourself a break from everything else on your list.

Are Sundays a good day to exercise?

The best day is one you can stick to. If weekday workouts keep getting squeezed out by work, travel or family plans, Sunday might be easier to protect.

Booking a regular class gives your week a bit of structure. You know when you're going, and there's less chance of putting it off until life gets quieter.

Reformer is about more than flexibility

Control, concentration and precision are at the heart of Pilates. The Reformer's moving carriage and adjustable springs put those principles into practice, with resistance that can support or challenge a movement.

Depending on the exercises, a class can work on core strength, muscular endurance, balance, mobility and coordination.

You don't need to be flexible or experienced to begin. Tell your instructor it's your first class so they can explain the equipment and help you find the right starting point.

Leave room for the rest of your Sunday

A workout doesn't need to take over the day. A class, a coffee and home in time for lunch can be enough of a plan.

If you've spent the weekend running around after everyone else, a little time to yourself is worth making room for.
